Welcome Into Bookish World

  • QOTD : Have you ever read a book that was more like a movie?
.
.
.
An emotionally charged story of music, abuse and, ultimately, hope. Beck hates his life. He hates his violent mother. He hates his home. Most of all, he hates the piano that his mother forces him to play hour after hour, day after day. He will never play as she did before illness ended her career and left her bitter and broken. But Beck is too scared to stand up to his mother, and tell her his true passion, which is composing his own music - because the least suggestion of rebellion on his part ends in violence. When Beck meets August, a girl full of life, energy and laughter, love begins to awaken within him and he glimpses a way to escape his painful existence. But dare he reach for it.

.
.
Finally my contemporary reading crave is satisfied! I love everything about this book, is like casually reading @paperfury sites all over again.
.
.
.
Half part of this book the reader been introduce into the Mutter - the abusive, Beck - the introvert pianist, Joey - his sweet and half monster 5 year old sister (who also get suspended from preschool - and thats one funny) and also August - the girl who actually born on July.
.
.
.
This book have all the rainbows of life such as the dark, the sweet also the hope for the future no matter how odds will it be. I love the characters, the inner obligations and I could not find any flaw in this book. Its just been written to satisfy my reading routine 😂.
.
.
.
Beck is an introvert and dont know how to make friend until his teacher put August as his partner for an assignment, and that girl will never left him alone - unless she dont get what she want. Beck also swallow all her mother command/wants so the abuse doesnt go into his lovingly sister. This book about family, friendship and of course love. I cant get my head thinking about 'Then Came You' movie except nobody dead on this book 🤣.
.
.
.
Well then I'm rating it full 5⭐ cause for the darkness but also for the fun and sweetness this book bring.

Buku himpunan cerpen ini adalah satu karya yang menarik, seperti sy sedang bereksperimen dengan minda sy sendiri sama ada sy mampu belajar sesuatu dari karya ini ataupun tidak - apparently and suprisingly - yes, and its not to over to say that this pieces was so mindblowing.

The result of all the reading is this : ODDLY SATISFYING - like watching blackhead removal videos. I can lose myself in this book. - yup cant find others thing that suit the feeling, pardon the blackhead thingy 🤭. .
.
.
Among my fave short story is Roslan Masuk TV & Cerita Rokiah Yang Sakit Ingin Bersalin. Also the beautiful and meaningful illustration by @rasydanfitri deserve a round of applause 😍.
.
.
.
"Kini, Rokiah bertarung dengan nyawa, kesakitan, waktu & nalurinya sebagai ibu. Tidak terkecuali dgn penulis yg asyik sibuk ingin menentukan nasib Rokiah yang sakit ingin bersalin ini"
.
.
.
Ringkasnya buku ini adalah satu karya yang segar, menghibur dan pada masa yang sama, mendidik - dalam sejuta kata yang tidak mungkin difahami melainkan dengan membaca buku ini sendiri.
.

.
Ratings : 5/5 ✨ (Yup, semua org wajib baca kalau nak experience that oddly satisfying feeling 😂)

I've been reading this book till 84 pages and it was a fast paced and comical reading as it was alternate by illustration. This book is truly are relaxing, so light, humourous and surely not a bad plot. Just the kind of reading I can quickly capture on while not in the kitchen helping potong memotong bawang 🤣.
